Content Producer
A filmmaker based in Berlin and Content Producer at newcube, Nazgol Kashani has directed, produced and edited insightful videos of the artists we work with.
A graduate of ICART in Paris in Cultural mediation, she kicked off her career in galleries before joining Sotheby's France in their Business development department. She went on to pursue her first Master's degree in Cultural Policy in London and worked as a freelance curator and documentary producer for the BBC, with a focus on contemporary art. She then joined IHF, the Iranian Heritage Foundation, a non-political UK registered charity with the mission to promote and preserve the history, languages, and cultures of Iran.
Passionate about film and cinema and following the success of her short documentaries, she moved to the US to pursue a Master of Fine Art at Ohio University, with a focus on film. She is since dedicated to her career as a filmmaker and has made various documentaries and narrative shorts. Nazgol has received several awards and grants and her most recent short film, "May She RIP" won the prestigious Arte Short Film Prize at the 33rd Filmfest in Dresden, in July 2021 and the First International Prize for Short Films at Directed by Women Istanbul.
One foot in the film industry and the other in the contemporary art world, Nazgol has brought together her two passions at newcube. Her videos lead the audience into the inner and outer worlds of the artists, and reveal the uniqueness of their practice.
